All of the content you create within Transom, including your "Thoughts," "Projects," and associated tags, is stored securely using Apple's privacy-focused technologies:
- On-Device Storage: By default, all your data resides safely on your iPhone or iPad.
- Private iCloud Sync (Optional): If you enable iCloud, your data is synced across your devices using your personal iCloud account with end-to-end encryption.
We, the developers, do not have access to, view, or store any of your personal notes, ideas, or writing. The app is architected to make this impossible.
III. Information We Collect
We collect only the absolute minimum anonymous data necessary to maintain and improve the app for our community of writers.
- Anonymous Analytics: To help us fix bugs and understand which features are most valued, we may collect non-personal, aggregated usage data (e.g., crash reports, feature usage frequency). This data is not linked to you or the content you write.
- Subscription Status: If you purchase a premium subscription, all transactions are handled by the Apple App Store. We receive an anonymous receipt to validate your purchase but do not see your payment information.
IV. Third-Party Advertising
To support the free features of Transom, we may display ads from third-party advertising partners (such as Google AdMob). Here is our commitment regarding advertising:
- Our partners may use your device's anonymous and resettable **Advertising ID** to show you ads that may be relevant to your general interests.
- Your personal notes and writing content are never shared with advertisers. The data used for advertising is non-personal and is kept separate from your creative work.
- You can typically reset this ID or opt-out of personalized advertising in your device's main privacy settings.

We do not sell your personal data. We only share anonymous analytics data with trusted service providers who help us operate the app under strict confidentiality agreements.
